What should I have in my bag for my infant?

My husband and I are going to be flying from TX to NJ. We will have our 10 month old son with us. Our first flight is not that long. It is maybe an hour and a half long. Our second flight is longer. It is 5-6 hours long. I plan on bringing a lot of diapers, and a box of wipes. I can always get water on the plane for his bottles. I have cheerios for him, and fruit pieces. Is it ok to bring a portable dvd player on the plane? I bought a new baby einstein dvd for him, and plan on letting him watch it for the first time on the plane. He hates pacifiers, and doesn't suck his thumb...so I don't know what to do for him when we take off and land (but I heard it's ok if they don't suck on something during that process) Also, my husband bought him new toys, so he will play with those longer, than he would his old toys. Can I bring a teddy bear, so he can cuddle with it? One last thing...I am terrfied of heights, so flying makes that worse...I don't want my son to pick up on my fear...my husband on the other hand loves to fly...so would it be better for my husband told have him in his lap, rather than mine? (also I am 20 weeks pregnant...so, I don't think I will have much lap room lol) I try to sleep when I am on planes, but I would rather try to stay awake for my son...maybe get some crayons and a drawing pad? He has showed an intrest in scribbling already. Thank you so much in advance! We can't take his car seat on the flights because the flights are full, so we have to put it along with our luggage. What can I do to make sure nothing breaks?
