1996 Mercury Sable Problems?

I recently sold my hunk of junk because of transmission problems that werent worth 1000s of dollars fixing, not to mention numerous other problems that were showing up. I was just wondering if any other owners out there had transmission problems ( I heard they were popular with the 94-95-96 Sables) and what other problems have you faced?
