HTC Wildfire Screen Locking/Unlocking....?

I've just got the HTC Wildfire and love everything about it, except the way you have to lock and unlock the screen (pressing the power on) is there a way around this??? I know there's some apps that that I can get to lock the screen which is half the problem solved but I wondered if there is anyway other way of unlocking the phone as well???
