We want to be together. He wants to wait, I don't want to. what to do?

Me and this guy have known each other for three years but never got along. Now we've found a lot we like in each other, get along great and want to get together. We've both been hurt in past relationships and are a little apprehensive about being a couple. He wants to wait a little, but I want to get together on halloween and he knows. We've made an agreement that he would only have six months to come around. He's tried to ure me that I would nothing to worry about and that we would be together. Problem is I'm impatient.What can I do to take my mind off waiting, or help him come around quicker?
