Ohio Law for 16 yr old male being accused of by 14 yr. old female?

Can anyone tell me what to expect: My son is 16 yrs. old had consentual with a 14 yr. old girl 4 days ago. We heard today that she filed charges but the police have not contacted my son yet. My sons friend and even the friend of the girl that was there said my son did do any such thing. I believe son. This lie could ruin his life. What should I do call police to see if charges have been filed or wail for to contact and then let tell his side.
